SensorPush TC.x Sensor with Thermocouple Probe

Sensorpush, the New York-based manufacturer of compact environmental sensors, has announced the launch of its new TC.x model. The new Sensor will be compatible with a range of industry-standard thermocouples.

Scheduled for launch toward the end of 2026, the TC.x will be supplied with a standard Type-T probe, suitable for –200 °C to +205 °C. But it will also be compatible with third-party probes, allowing measurement from –250 °C to +1800 °C. Supported thermocouples will be:  K, J, T, N, S, E, B, R.

The sensor will also be available without a probe, enabling customers to supply their own probes for specialist applications.

These units will work with existing Gateways and apps, and will be compatible with the existing range of sensors. They will also have the open Bluetooth protocol. In addition, TC.x Sensors will allow for different sample rates, such as 30 seconds or five minutes.

A thermocouple allows the sensor to be located outside the monitored environment, making it suitable for use in extreme conditions. It also overcomes one of the most common difficulties with wireless sensors: signal degradation through the walls of cold rooms and refrigerated cabinets.

New SensorPush Sensors

SensorPush has launched two new sensors, the HT.w and HTP.xw, which are now in stock in the UK from Heronhill. There are a number of upgrades and new features. For a quick rundown of the options look at our comparison table.

Even Better Accuracy: Using updated and specially-selected sensing units, the new sensors have even better accuracy than the existing HT1 sensor. The HT.w has a typical accuracy of ±2%RH, ±0.2°C and the HTP.xw (x for extreme accuracy) features a best-available typical accuracy of ±1.5%RH and ±0.1°C.

Barometric Pressure: The HTP.xw takes that best-in-class humidity sensing and adds a high-end barometric pressure sensor. It’s perfect for tracking weather conditions, but we’re excited to see what other uses you find. SensorPush has been testing the HTP.xw in monitoring vacuum storage containers for high-end coffee. Let us know how you put them to work.

Water Resistance: Both of these new sensors feature a high degree of water resistance with o-ring seals and a specially designed sensor membrane, which protects the internals from water, as well as dust and particulate contamination. COVID-19 has slowed down the official IP testing, so we’re currently calling it “splash-proof” or “rain-proof”, but initial testing suggests that we should achieve an IP65 rating.

Even Longer Battery Life: Battery life is now estimated at over 2 years in normal conditions.

SensorPush Sensor

The SensorPush system provides temperature and humidity monitoring in a small cost-effective package.

Multiple Sensors can be connected to a Gateway making the data available to view online via a smartphone app. A website will be available shortly giving even more functionality.

We originally came across SensorPush when looking for a solution to meet the needs of our wine cellar customers, but SensorPush proved to be much more than that. We can see this product being useful in a range of applications. 

We’ve had a number of Sensors on test for a while, the system has proved to be accurate and very reliable. Measuring just 40 x 40 x 16.5mm the Sensors are tiny, ideal for any location.

SensorPush Gateway

We particularly like that all the settings can be controlled from your smartphone. So if the client is away from home and they decide they need to add or change an alarm setting it’s all there.
